CPR and First Aid Training
The Dream Tree Youth Leaders Foundation recently held CPR and first aid training sessions for our members, led by American Heart Association Instructor Koen W. Kim. The goal was to make sure our youth leaders are prepared to step in and help when emergencies happen.
Training Experience
During the sessions, members practiced CPR through hands-on drills, learning how to do proper chest compressions and how to stay calm in urgent situations. They also covered basic first aid, which gave them a better idea of how to respond to everyday injuries and more serious emergencies.
By the end of the training, everyone who completed the program earned their official CPR certification. This gave our members both the skills and the confidence to take action in life-threatening situations.
Community Impact
The training also prepared members to share their knowledge with the community. At the 51st LA Korean Festival, our youth leaders ran an interactive booth where they demonstrated CPR techniques to festival visitors. Many visitors even tried out chest compressions themselves, walking away with practical knowledge they could use in an emergency.
Community-led development is about recognizing that the people most affected by development challenges are also the ones best equipped to address them.

Conclusion
This experience was meaningful for our youth leaders, who not only learned important life-saving skills but also had the chance to pass them on to others. The CPR and first aid training was another step in building leadership and responsibility as part of the Dream Tree Youth Leaders Foundation.
